The Brook…

By John Coltman at 9:55 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2007

BrookThe Brook examines 5 references to brooks in the Word of God.

  1. The brook Eschol (The Spies)
  2. The brook in the valley of Elah (David)
  3. The brook Cherith (Elijah)
  4. The brook from which Nehemiah viewed Jerusalem
  5. The brook Cedron (Christ)

As John follows these references through scripture he draws a lesson from each.

Listen again and read the passages for yourself to examine your life in relation to its direction and fulfilment of purpose as a Christian.

A Little Child

By Tim Lancelot at 6:09 pm on Monday, December 18, 2006

Child

This picture of a young child reminds us of the miracle of life that God gives.

Spiritual life is a greater miracle, and can only come through faith and trust in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said “Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18v3

Like a child, God then wishes us to grow by feeding on what Peter calls “the sincere milk of the Word (the Bible)”. 1Peter 2v2

A Slave to Sin?

By Wesley Downs at 8:46 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2006

Wesley Downs works with people in a deprived area of south Manchester - some of which have lives ruined by alcohol, drugs or worse. He can testify to many cases where the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has set individuals free not only from the penalty of sin, but also the power of sin.

In this powerful sermon, he explores how in reality each of us are born slaves to sin. Only faith in the Lord Jesus can set us free. The Lord Jesus once said, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” John 8v36.

“Nothing in this world is FREE!”

By Josh Beckett at 6:46 pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2006

No, you are quite right – everything has a cost. Whether it is a financial cost, a time cost, or some other cost - everything costs somebody, somewhere, something.

But there is such a thing as a gift.
Something that has been paid for by someone else, and is now on offer without cost to the recipient.

The Glory of God - Ezekiel 1

By Tim Lancelot at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2006

I wonder whether, like us, you’ve ever wondered what God looks like, as He sits upon His heavenly throne.

In ‘The Glory of God’ Tim examines the prophet Ezekiel’s account of his vision of the throne of God in all His glory. How would such a vision affect my appreciation of God?!
